Living my dream

By Mima

First of the winter

I lifted the first parsnip today. It always a bit of an unknown because the foliage can be beautifully lush over many-forked and pathetic roots. This year it looks as though the crop will be a cracker, if this one is indicative of the rest.

It has been sliced and is now roasting. Yum :-)

It’s been a lovely active day. Among other things I started to dig out the last 3m of hard pan clay from the tunnel raised bed. I gave the chooks clean bedding. And Bean and I had a long fast walk in the cool wind.

She is currently having a gossip with Tilda; each of them at their own gate, barking at each other with great wagging of tails. Idiots.
