Getting the sparkle back

Sorry about the bins - I had a go at disguising them and it didn't work. Maybe they do fit into the picture. I did want to have this photo as it will remind me of a splendid afternoon with my literature class in the garden of one of our members in Portobello. It was sunny and warm, just perfect in fact. We had our first discussion of The Liberation of Celia Khan by J David Simmons about a young Jewish woman growing up in the Gorbals in Glasgow from 1915 to 1923. It was an easy read and interesting in its portrayal of the social history of that time, although I thought it was maybe a bit two-dimensional.
