The Day's Last Hurrah...

A day that didn't look all that promising in the morning blossomed into a lovely sunny and warm late afternoon and ended with this gentle end-of-day farewell..a lovely low-key sunset..

The day got off to a very chilly start. The first order of the day? Grab a sweater, get the coffee on and the fire going, and then try to capture a sunrise..or at least some morning sunshine in the back bay...  Early morning does have its drawbacks -heavy dew on the dock chairs - so sitting is a challenge, and mosquitoes of course, are a nuisance...but the morning light can be ever so lovely and worth the effort...and it was..despite the cold.

I took a few photos out back and included one that had a lady's slipper in it just for Knottman 2 - I knew he would like that! heh heh (extra)

As the day wore on, the weather improved to the point that I could sit on the dock in the sun and read or just watch, listen and think..It was just another quiet, laid-back day, but with a special treat - my brother, whose cottage is nearby, came over for dinner tonight and we had a good visit..It is nice when I am here alone to have a little company now and then...

Tomorrow my daughter returns but only for the day and overnight. We will both leave on Sunday for a day or two before coming back north. Time flies up here..can't believe my first week will be over so soon..
