Malahide delivers the goods

We both had reasons to celebrate today. My new bathroom was completed last night, while Carl officially handed over his mother's house (and his family home) to its new owner yesterday evening.

I got the day off to a great start with my first shower in my fab new bathroom (so wonderfully relaxing after quite a stressful week with the bathroom guys), and Carl came over to make all the right noises when he did an inspection. Inspection duty performed he suggested that we get a taxi to Malahide and do some celebrating. That's what we did.

We began in Fowler's wonderful outdoor space, had some food and drink there until it turned a bit chilly and we moved inside. Fowler's is even better than we remembered. It really is a great spot, with lots of different areas which each have a different atmosphere. Lots and lots of floor staff kept the drink flowing and the chat chatting until we decided to head back to the DART station. That's when Duffy's pub waylaid us.

DUffy's is also a great spot. It's very different from Fowler's but equally successful in terms of atmosphere and staff. We spent another pleasant time there until we headed back to our respective homes. We were really struck in both wonderful places by a feeling of being back to pre-pandemic pub culture. It was all wonderfully relaxed and carefree. Dublin at its best.

Well done Malahide.
