It was worth a try . . .

We got back from Wales yesterday afternoon and I went this morning to help with setting up the Jubilee party in the Village Hall.  We knew that the weather was forecast to be poor, or even unsuitable, but we had a go anyway.

And the rain hammered down!  But I wasn't there to commiserate because Mrs B had a message from the NHS Covid app that she had been close to someone who has since tested positive.  We judged it inappropriate to go and mix inside with others, so we had a quiet afternoon at home.  I've read that the app has a problem with such messages: they appear, you read them, then they are gone, never to be recovered.  It seems that the underlying framework is providing a warning that is nothing to do with possible infection but that the glitch has remained nonetheless.
