Nicky and her Nikon

A rainy day

This morning we woke up to rain and wind - Xena took one look at the weather and curled up in her bed! After breakfast Gavin forced took Xena out for a wet and windy walk. Typical bank holiday weather, and I think many Jubilee street parties planned for today were spoilt by the weather. Our local one at home was moved from the street to the local pub when the weather forecast predicted poor weather for today.

The rest of us pottered about and then Adam decided to go for a run in the rain. Gavin has - against my better judgement (!) - decided to run the London Marathon again in October, his last one (he said that last time). The marathon is usually held in April but it was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, then in 2021 it was moved to October when he ran it - and this year is the last time it will be in October and as it will be his 42nd marathon - a nice round number matching the distance of a marathon which is 42km - he has decided to do it. In solidarity, the boys and Meriel have said they will run it with him. Meriel is an experienced runner but the boys are not, they actually dislike running...but they have said they will do it and raise money for the charity so their training has begun.

We went out for lunch at a very popular restaurant in Burnham Market, and after lunch I took a photo of the young adults outside the restaurant. Then back to the house, we packed up, and everyone left. The journey home was fine with no traffic delays which is surprising on a bank holiday weekend.

Tomorrow morning I have to be at the hall in Epsom by 9.30am where the camera club are holding their exhibition to hang my prints. I also have to walk Xena so there will be some juggling tomorrow morning, most likely a very early walk for Xena.
