Redstarts on the nest

The weather this morning was the best of our short break away to date.  It has been dry all day, so far, but this morning was gloriously sunny and reasonably warm.  So much so that we were able to enjoy lunch outdoors in shirt sleeves.  I fear that there is some more wet weather on the way though.

I managed to get shots of both the male and female Redstarts in flight this morning, so they had to be my blip, even though some of the scenery on our walk was spectacular.  As you will see the male is busy cleaning up the nest in the main, while in the extra, the female has found a nice juicy beetle that it is bringing home to the chicks
