Acting on Impulse

Fitting that today’s blip title is a song by a fellow bassist, Manfred Mann’s Tom McGuiness. Because this bass guitar was certainly bought on impulse - within ten minutes of entering the shop in fact. Spotted it, tried it, bought it. If only all of life’s decisions were so easy.
Apart from a bit of a clean and polish, nothing else is needed - it plays and sounds well just as it is. So, unusually for me, I am putting all thoughts of upgraded bridges, strings and pickups to one side for the moment. Well, at least until it’s done a couple of gigs anyway. I’m also slightly deterred from doing anything immediately by the sheer cost of any potential upgrades. It seems that aftermarket bits for Gibson or Epiphone guitars are a lot more expensive than their Fender/Squier counterparts!
And acting is very much to the fore from now on. Dress rehearsal for the play tonight, so last chance to iron out any issues and get my lines nailed before opening night tomorrow.
Now, where did I put that script…
