Foxgloves

Digitalis purpurea.
Seem to be more than ever this year. In my walk round the village it was hard to find a garden without them.
Its a curious name. You would not think they would fit foxes. Some people have suggested it comes from folk’s ( i.e. fairies gloves  ) but the linguists think not.
Lots of medical uses, especially for heart conditions.
They are certainly a delight to see.
