Telfords Bridge

Despite its name, this Grade II listed bridge over the River Colne in London Colney, Hertfordshire, was not built by Thomas Telford.  I am led to believe it was constructed by a local builder but that, in the 1820s, Telford recommended improvements to the approaches to the bridge. It is built on the original A6 out of London but a by-pass has removed the heavy traffic away from this road.

Once again, searching for a blip has led to me find out a little bit more about the area in which I live.

After some computer problems (which won't be fully solved until I buy a new computer) I have backblipped the last couple of days.
