A wet and windy Saturday

Sailing was cancelled today because of high winds - not good when you’re taking passengers for a cruise on the harbour.  So instead, we took my Mum up to Orewa to visit her sister and took the two of them out for lunch at Walnut Cottage Café as a very belated Mother’s Bay gift.

I intended to take a photo of Walnut Cottage for my blip, but the heavens opened just before we were ready to leave, so it was impossible to do so. My emergency blip is of our supper tonight - an apple, and some cheese from this morning’s market. We also enjoyed a glass of wine and a piece of dark chocolate.

There are 5,130 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 5,914 compared to 6,841 last Saturday. The number of people in hospital is 332, including 4 in ICU. Another 8 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,311 and the seven-day rolling average to 13.
