Across the sea border...

... in Glenarm, near Larne. We stayed over with Diana - Richard's sister - last night, in Larne, and then drove a few miles north to Glenarm this morning. I think this is probably the fourth time we've stayed in this particular holiday cottage, just over the road from the beach. Unfortunately the previous tenant had clearly chainsmoked indoors, despite strict non-smoking instructions, so we spent the first hour or two letting the brisk wind blast through every available window. It feels and smells better now :-)

And this coming week will apparently bring a bill in Parliament about the vexed question of the Northern Ireland protocol. An entirely avoidable vexed question, had we either avoided Brexit altogether (as the majority of the Northern Ireland population wanted to do), or had at least stayed in the internal market (as even Boris Johnson, back in his shape-shifting past, once committed to doing).

But, but, but... we are where we are. There's quite a bit of graffiti around, expressing opposition to "any border in the Irish Sea". This bit of graffiti, though, is both enigmatic and amusing - perhaps indicating an escapist  desire to make fun of the whole thing. We'll see what develops. As an EU spokesperson is reported to have commented, "London is negotiating with itself again".
