Autumn's a great time of year if you're into fungi.

Rummaging around Hagley Park today (like you do) I found this delightful pair of Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita.

Real storybook toadstools, these fabulous fungi are definitely not suitable for children. Psychoactive and poisonous is definitely not a good combination; there are tales of it being used as ann hallucinogenic in several cultures and although there have been no documented deaths attributed to it, it would seem to be a pretty risky proposition...
