Stirling Castle and Town

This is a view of Stirling from a small back road running from Bannockburn to the village of Cowie. I thought I would give it the sepia treatment for a change.
The pale building on the hilltop is the Great Hall. A full refurbishment was completed a few years ago and the colouration is as it would have been way back in the 15th Century or so. The dark building to the left is the royal palace and the interior is a real eye-opener. Quite sumptuous and very colourful but still chilly and draughty in winter. No central heating back then!
The buildings clustered beneath the castle are, in the main, older rather than new and the area is well worth a stroll round with camera in hand - blip opportunities abound!
