Buzzing

The van was booked in to the garage in Alnwick this morning, so they could investigate the 'engine malfunction' warning sign. But no courtesy car was available. So MrM and I decided that, after leaving the van, we'd take the bus to Morpeth and spend a few hours there.

We went for short walk by the river, had lunch sitting outside at a cafe, explored the town, and wandered through the Millennium Green. Once a piece of derelict land, in 1998 it was transformed into an award-winning community garden by a group of local people with a grant from the Millennium Commission and funds from local businesses and councils. The Blip is one of the six mosaics around the garden, designed by local artists with help from school children. Another mosaic as an extra.

The journey back to Alnwick was a magical mystery tour, as the bus was diverted to avoid an accident on the A1. Interesting too - from the top of a double-decker you can see all sorts of things not visible from a van, including the dinosaurs at the garden centre!

Back to the garage to discover that they had worked out what was wrong with the van, but couldn't do the repair today as they don't have the parts in stock. So the van is booked in to the garage again for the end of next week. No courtesy car then, so maybe another trip in the offing...
