Croc Country

We spotted our first crocodile of the trip today. There is a bridge on the highway a few kms south where they are often seen so we went there at low tide and sure enough just as we arrived one slid into the water. We waited a while and saw it surface a couple of times and then emerged to sun itself on the mud flats. I’m assuming it was the same one. Must have been almost 4 metres long. We were surprised there were no croc warning signs!

After a sleep in this morning we oriented ourselves then set off to nearby Mossman Gorge for a picnic lunch and lovely rainforest walk. First extra.
