We are ‘CGT’

C and I got the No 21 bus then the Metro from her place in Gateshead to Newcastle railway station to pick up G who got the 7:30 from Stirling. We then hopped on the train to Tynemouth on the coast just 20 mins away. There was a market type thing going on under the glass at Tynemouth station which was cool but we were in search of a Cafe for a coffee and croissant and found a really good one on Tynemouth high street. We sat out and blethered for a good while as its been about a year since we all met face to face. C has always come up to Scotland to see us with her sister so it was a nice change for us to come to her, see her new house and meet her partner Dave.

A meal was booked at a restaurant overlooking the beach at 1:30, so we had plenty time to wander along the prom and enjoy the scenery and the good weather and of course take some selfies!

The food was nice at the restaurant but it was so hot inside I must have drunk a gallon of water . The food was nice and after that we walked to Whitley Bay along the prom. Spanish City has been all done up since I was last there many years ago and is now a restaurant and wedding venue along with a champagne bar overlooking the prom. They had champagne cocktails and I had a French Martini it was tasty! By this time it was 5pm so we walked up to Whitley Bay train station to get back to Newcastle and then Dave picked us up to go back to the house .

The hotel near C’s house was one she hadn’t been to before and had the most delicious half chicken with gravy and chips. The chicken was so tender. I left them to it at 10pm and walked back. I can’t do later and the music got ramped up in the restaurant and it was too much haha . They arrived back about 12.

A great day.
