Rathlin in the mist

We set off from Glenarm in the rain, wondering if our planned trip to Rathlin would be a washout. But we were lucky. We had breakfast in the Marine Hotel, looking out at a rainswept harbour. But by the time we were on the small ferry, the rain had stopped. From then onwards, banks of cloud and fog moved across the island, alternating with sunshine.  The light over the basalt and limestone cliffs was magical.
We went to the western end of the island, to the RSPB seabird centre at the 'upside down lighthouse'. The lighthouse, in itself, is worth seeing - built into the cliffs in the early part of the twentieth century. Despite the tough conditions, the information board noted that there were no casualties in the six years it took to build. There's a slightly misty view of it, from above, in the extra.
The main shows a kittiwake on the nest, chicks just visible.  We saw puffins too, and razorbills and guillemots.  It'll take me a while to go through the 100s of images...
Belated thanks to everyone for all the stars, hearts and comments on my swallow/window reflection image the other day. Much appreciated.
