Vis round tour

A whole day exploring Vis on the bike, 37km cycling, lots of hills, 900m ascent.
Another beautiful day, already hot when we left at 7.45, we headed first for som breakfast, then at 9am on the way up. It’s a long slow 300m climb to the other side, over 7km, then a super decent down to Komiza, where we sat for a while rehydrating at the harbourside. At 11, we were off again, up hill, but only back up to 270m! We turned off, then parked the bikes, and walked down the very steep path to Stivina beach. I was completely soaked, so a swim in this beautiful cove was the main priority. After this we sat in the shade of the little restaurant to enjoy some lunch an many drinks for a couple of hours. It was hot walking back up the path, but easier than coming down. Just 5 km later we stopped at Aerodrom Gostionica, a former British airbase in the 2nd world war for some more drinks. It was starting to cool down very slightly at 4.30 for the last climb, before we could enjoy the final downhill to Kut, in Vis town.
We did some hand washing, then went a out for a well deserved delicious meal at Val restaurant, which all came really quickly!
