Coot ( Fulica atra )

We were informed that our garden equipment was ready for collection.  SO after Clickychick finished with her client we had a run up to Brampton.  After picking up the parcel we bought chips and parked again at Talkin Tarn.

A beautiful evening with a number of rowers out on the tarn.  We wandered a little way along the path, which is where I saw the coots,

Coots as a population in the UK are doing fine.  They live on average 5 years but the record for age is 15byears 3 months 3 days.   The green colour on the water is the reflection of the tarnside trees and vegetation.
