If you can't beat them...

Cocksfoot ( Dactylis glomerata )

More time spent at the studio.  For a blip I nipped out for a walk down the lane.  Among the things I chose to photograph was the grass Cocksfoot.  In my opinion one of the easiest grasses to identify.  I didn't notice the two little beetles until I got it on the computer.  I suspect they may be members of the jewel beetles group.

Cocksfoot is a grass not often used in agricultural mixes as unless dealt with carefully it forms clumps.  While the young growth is palatable to stock it becomes tough and coarse as the leaves mature.
