Daiquiri Dreams

Following breakfast we invaded the villa next door where the rest of the family are staying.

It was about to be their first trip to the pool whilst my lot were keen to get back in there! A couple of hours soon vanished in multiple trips down the rapids, a long queue and a quick ride down The Cyclone on an inflatable and taking their cousin around unicorn island where sadly we were only able to spot a pigeon.

The children were delighted at getting Grandad down the rapids and were only momentarily concerned when he got left behind for a short while - apparently he’d become wedged somewhere.

We all had lunch together and then took a stroll to the country club for a drink and m’boy and I sloped off for a round of crazy golf. Then we were off to short tennis, which was great fun - although The Youngest’s patience with it didn’t last long and she went full-McEnroe before being escorted from the court by her uncle - but I’d forgotten how difficult it was to play against my wily, long-long limbed father.

In a small break in play whilst back at the Villa, the children were flagging, so had a drink and a snack, while I introduced The Eldest to the wonders of a canned Strawberry Daiquiri.

The evening was spent having a lovely family meal at Bella Italia for the dual celebration of my mum’s just-stop-counting-th birthday and my parents wedding anniversary. It was almost a ruby celebration, but then they’d realised that they had miscounted. Aside from a hairy moment where I lightly singed my six month old nephew’s hand (turned out that he was fine - thankfully), it was one of the nicest meals out I think we’ve ever had as a family.

Two great days on the bounce? On for the hat-trick here…
