Doodle Hare

It has been a very hot day.
This morning we went to ukulele class, where  everyone was visibly upbeat and in a good mood,  following the success of last Saturday's Winchester Uke Festival. We were all talking excitedly about the amazing acts we had seen, and how much both the audience and artistes had enjoyed the  event.
This afternoon we returned to town to attend the funeral of a neighbour who died last month from mesothelioma. The simple, tasteful, and personalised  service was held in the funeral directors' own premises, where they have a beautifully designed suite overlooking a memorial  garden. It was the  first time I had been there, and although I hope not to attend there again for a while, I did enjoy the views of  their garden with a small stream flowing  through it, and glimpses of the main River Itchen beyond.(see extra).

The main blip is of one of fifteen, six feet tall, hares which we discovered  have just been installed in and  around Winchester for the next two months: Hares of Hampshire each one painted by a different artist. This one is Doodle Hare by Natasha  Hillary Art, and is to be found  at the gate to  Abbey Gardens. The design is  based on mandala henna tattoos.
I will endeavour to  track down other hares in the  series and blip them here.
We went to the Cook Shop  for some frozen foods to take with us on Friday for our first meal away.
