Bad news and good news

It has been another hot day, and I am concerned over how well the garden will fare while we are away for a week. Fortunately, our kind neighbours have agreed to water the plants in pots; the rest will have to take their chances. This white iris is growing by the  edge of our small  pond but has flopped over, giving the  illusion of actually emerging from the water.

Good news and bad news today: first the good news is that I finished  the photobook for my mother and  have completed the online order. The book should arrive in about ten days, which is perfect.
The bad news is that  my sister C, has tested positive for Covid. She has  been feeling very unwell for the past couple of days; now we know why. Sadly, it means she won't be able to join us on our family holiday in Devon. She had  planned to join us next Monday from her home in Cornwall. It is especially  disappointing  because it was going  to be  an opportunity for her to spend  precious time with our other sister, A, who is visiting England  from Australia  this  month. Now, it is going to be touch and go whether they will meet at all while A is here.
