Hebridean sea view

We made it! Despite Covid19, the rail strike, and unpredictable Scottish summer weather, we have reached our bed and breakfast on Tiree. Our accommodation is beautiful, with amazing views from the guest sitting room (blipped) and from our bedroom. We are very comfortable here.

Our day started super-early. We were up at 5:30am to pack and load up the bikes. We wheeled the short distance down to the ferry terminal for 6:00am, rather worried that the boat wouldn't sail due to high winds. It was with great relief that we were invited aboard at 6:30am, then set sail as timetabled at 7:00am.

I took a travel sickness tablet and didn't have any breakfast just in case, but I needn't have bothered because the crossing was fine. The weather had turned rather grim by the time we reached the island, but it cleared up again while we ate an early lunch (or was it late breakfast?) at the Scarinish Hotel. The short ride to our accommodation afterwards was lovely: along the coast, in the sunshine, mainly with the wind, on the flat.

Over the course of the day we have played three Scrabble games and Mr hazelh leads the series 2-1.

Exercise today: small amount of cycling (7 miles).
