A Day In The Life

By Irish59

Sun•Day

Another busy outdoor day tolerating hot 91F temperatures. We took plenty of breaks inside to hydrate and get out of the sun. A few of the plants we purchased last week found homes but there are more to do on another day; the rest of the radishes were harvested; and everybody got a long well-deserved drink. Fingers crossed for rain showers tomorrow • Our neighbor stopped by for a chat at the edge of our veggie garden. He informed us that one of the resident woodchucks was hit and killed by a passing car just moments earlier (we were indoors). This particular one lived on his side of the street and we often witnessed his mad dashes from one side to the other. As much as I have love-hate relationships with these destructive eaters, I do like them and feel quite sad that he’s gone. No animal deserves to go this way • A cold dinner is planned but not until I’ve indulged in a G&T. Maybe MrsP will join me with a glass of Pinot Grigio? • Let’s hope for a peaceful week ahead.
