A Day In The Life

Wash After Eating

We spent an enjoyable few hours outside today. Despite the rising humidity it was mostly overcast and breezy, perfect for planting the perennials we purchased more than a week ago (speedwell, blazing star, violas); we also transplanted a blazing star that’s a few years old to a flower bed less bothered by deer and woodchucks. It hasn’t been able to flower in three years! We also have not seen a black eyed susan or cone flower for multiple years for the same reason. Those will likely be moved this fall. The dilemma is where, lol • All the gardens are looking good and keeping up with watering to keep them that way will be a challenge. The area is experiencing drought conditions and we’re now headed into the warmest part of the summer. Fingers crossed we can avoid water restrictions • Before heading into the house to cleanup and figure out dinner, I sat in the middle of our front lawn and waited. Within minutes I was entertained by a multitude of young gray squirrels and several chipmunks at the feeders. No worries, the cat was inside • It’s Saturday night. A glass of Rosé and a veggie stir fry await! Be well, Blipmates, may peace and joy be yours.
