Last day

And it was as busy on the water, as every other day. Thrown in to the mix, Jon demonstrated some water cleaning/purifying tecniques, and Dave made fire. Everyone helped out on the canoes.

The weather was drizzly on and off all day, so we took our tepee down mid morning. It was also really quite windy, which has been a feature of the 4 days as a whole, but makes the fire lighting tricky, as it can help to make a tindle bundle burst into flames, from a tiny spark, much quicker.

The show ended at 7, but we finish on our area at about 5.30, and then spent two hours dismantling, and packing away. I sorted out the fire, and put the turf back. I hope it grows back - if we are back next year I guess I'll find out.

We eventually left the Highland Showground at around 7.30 and drove to Dave's where Karen had prepared a lovely meal for us - and cake! It was much appreciated. Now we are back in their caravan for the night, before heading home in the morning.

It has been an exhausting, but enjoyable and rewarding segment of our holiday...but after 2 weeks away, I'm ready to go home now.
