Colour clash

Day #23 of #30dayswild was mostly spent preparing for a short break to Oxford, but I did spot a Cinnamon Bug Corizus hyascyami sitting on the flower of Meadow Crane's-bill on our patio while I was doing a bit of gardening. This spectacular species was once restricted to south-western areas but is now frequent in the Peterborough area.

We set off after lunch and had a pretty easy trip until we reached Oxford, where the SatNav was blissfully unaware that many streets were now closed to through traffic. Luckily Sarah's phone guided us through. After exploring our temporary abode we headed off to investigate the Cowley Road, a vibrant multicultural area with a good range of eating places. We spent some time in the St James' Street Tavern where I discovered the pleasure of a Flat White Cocktail. After considering the various eating options, we decided that we'd rather chill back at the house so ordered an Indian takeaway which was eaten in the garden.
