I think there are fewer insects around this year - maybe something to do with an early spring followed by the cool, wet weather we’ve been having of late ?

Our bee hotel (travel-lodge standard) has had some use. There are five compartments filled by red mason bees, and I’ve seen a leaf-cutter bee investigating but not doing anything as yet. And a little insect - I think it’s a tiny wasp - which has been using the very small compartments. Here it is completing the filling up of the latest one
