Quintessential

Spent the morning around Doreen’s eye hospital appointment. It needs two of us to get her there and back. I drop them off at the entrance, park up and wait to be called to collect them.

It seemed like it took longer than before as I had time to view blips, drive to Sainburys, did a bit of shopping, visited Aldi, filled up with diesel (£95), sorted finance and booked a hospital appointment all before I was called to collect them. Mind you, they did stop of a coffee after Doreen’s appointment.

It took a while to get Doreen sorted back at the care home then traffic was very heavy on the way back.

It was also a full on afternoon with me cooking a shepherds pie, making cherry ice cream and a mushroom stroganoff while Susan was doing her cleaning duties.

It was a relief to get out for an hour or so to enjoy a walk around the village , stopping off for a few moments to watch the cricket on the village green in the rather lovely evening light.
