Quiet Day

Feeling good, no Covid symptoms, but still basically stuck at home until tomorrow, at least assuming I test negative again tomorrow. But this morning my husband texted to say that he has tested positive - he's been in California for more than a week now. So we spent the morning trying to figure out what to do. Turns out he'll split up the trip and arrive home Monday. If he's still positive I'll set up the Murphy bed in my office for one of us...and we'll wear masks and sanitize surfaces. What else can one do? He'll be really happy to be home. He feels fine, he says, but has terrible laryngitis. (Which is why he texted and did not phone!)

Then I went out to the garden and spent the entire afternoon weeding and tidying up. Filled up the garden waste bin and feel pretty satisfied. Amazing how many plants are either stunted or fungus-y because of the endlessly wet spring we had. The roses are full of black spot, and the iris and peonies are mucky (scientific term!). But the garden looks a whole lot better!

This astilbe is about to explode into bloom! Not the best pic, but the only one that was decent enough to even post tonight!
