Last Light

And last flower on the Common Spotted Orchids. A post sunset dog walk at Corfe Mullen common. I was last here about a year ago when the orchids were in full flower. A peaceful stroll, unsurprisingly we had the place to ourselves …. apart from a lone deer which quickly made itself scarce.

A quiet day after yesterday’s adventures. Thanks for all the sympathy and good wishes - my finger is less painful today. Ruth, Jamie and I took Aaron to the seafront park late afternoon and flew Ruth’s kites. Food, dog walk and tennis otherwise … and sleep.

So our mighty leader will step down. A great orator and crowd pleaser he may be but I will happily settle for someone less eloquent, someone solid, reliable, maybe a little dull. Someone with a better grip on reality.
