Cottage Garden on Kirkhill

The front lawn of number 10 Kirkhill boasts a splendid display of wild/cottage garden flowers. I think they're mostly chamomile with some yellow daisies and a few cornflowers, plus one poppy. Last year the area had been allowed to grow into a 'hay meadow.'

I am really tempted to knock on the door and ask how they've managed to grow these flowers. We haven't had much luck but I do rather like our own wildflower meadow which boasts several different flowers. Others might call them weeds. A weed, they say, is a plant that grows in the 'wrong place.'

The fishmonger's van had broken down so he wasn't at the market. I hope he'll be at Loughborough Market tomorrow or else we won't have prawns for supper.

Popped in to see Colin for a short while before returning home for an interminable committee meeting.
