Silly Saturday

I’m not sure if the car is eating the cow or the cow is eating the car.

Some scenes from the trip from Mt Isa to Winton. 460km. We passed three stations, 1 small town Cloncurry, 2 Service centres including the Walkabout Hotel as seen in the movie Crocodile Dundee a few sheep and cattle and some moonscapes. It is much more settled looking with fences and mailboxes leading to stations out of sight from the highway. One mailbox was an old steam engine, no one would pinch it. They had heaps of rain here before we left home and we were wondering if the roads would still be cut when we got here. They are fine and there is green grass as far as the eye can see.  Most of the way from Cloncurry was very flat, up until then it was rocky mountainous terrain. The traffic was sparse. The roads were bitumen but very bumpy. One sign that amused me was for the cemetery 60km away. The rocks here are pale creamy colour, quite different to the red centre.
