Madness

"Let's meet for lunch" The Lighthouse Keeper said.
"Great" I said, "When?"
"In a couple of weeks" He said, "When we can get a table"

How did we know it was going to be the (forecast) sunniest / hottest day of the year. And the whole world was going to descend on the South Coast.

Madness aside, and ignoring the packed train, we had a great day out with N. It's almost two years now since A was taken ill, in a very similar heatwave, and N misses her every single day, as we all do. He is moving on thoigh, slowly, and is going on a holiday they'd planned next week, with a good friend of his. He knows it will be hard but he is genuinely looking forward to it. It sounds amazing, a cruise from Oban to Orkney (he's Scottish), on a small boat with only a few passengers. Not my preferred holiday (sun, cocktails, sand) but I'm still quite envious.

I ate an enormous lunch, and am about to lie on the sofa with a cup of tea. Rock and roll Saturday..
