Busy Saturday

This morning was quite busy - Farmer’s Market, home for coffee, hubby off to the Maritime Museum following the Ted Ashby’s annual maintenance, me at home making seeded cracker biscuits and yoghurt. Apparently it was extremely windy out on the water, making the afternoon trip quite challenging. Meanwhile, I drove into the Eden Terrace area and picked up my daughter to take her  for a short, gentle walk by the water - all she’s allowed to do at the moment.  It was very windy but nice to be out in the fresh air.  When I dropped her off she was very pleased to receive the fresh cracker biscuits and some nice cheese from the market. Back home I roasted vegetables for making soup and any other dishes we might feel like. Just before hubby arrived home I got an unexpected call from my cousin inviting us for supper and to watch the rugby match.  We popped in to have a quick drink with Mum, as she likes a G&T on a Saturday night, then drove to my cousin’s house.  We had a most entertaining and enjoyable evening with my cousin and her husband, although the rugby score wasn’t in the All Black’s favour, sadly. It was almost midnight when we arrived home, so am posting the blip a few hours late.

As I drove around the waterfront after dropping my daughter back home, I stopped a couple of times to take photos of the yachts out racing on the harbour.  As you can see, despite the sun, it was a grey day.

There are 9,307 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 8,690 compared to 6,825 last Saturday. The number of people in hospital is 570, including 9 in ICU. The average age of those in hospital is now 65. Today another 22 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,663 and the seven-day rolling average to 16.
