A collage of beers

Well, the Scottish summer *definitely* happened today. It was thoroughly warm today, with wall to wall sunshine.

We spent most of the morning putting up the new curtain track that we bought yesterday for the bedroom, which is intended to run more smoothly than the pole it has replaced, as well as be closer to the window so that less light can come in. There isn’t much point having blackout curtains if the light can come round the sides and over the top. Blackout curtains are essential for Scotland in summer…. The curtain track seems to have done the job and the curtains also do a great job at keeping the heat out when the afternoon sun shines directly on the bedroom window.

Afterwards, we popped down to Great Junction Street and went to the new Bottle Shop that sells craft beer and stocked up for an afternoon on the balcony. In fact, it was rather too hot on the balcony when in the sun, but it is now perfect as we are in the shade and there is a bit of a breeze, so we are enjoying a last post dinner beer. Two days of peace and quiet on the building site are over. They will be back first thing tomorrow morning, tearing up Anderson Place over the cobbles in the lorries which, as Joppastrand said, do so much damage to the roads carting away the demolition debris and the surplus topsoil.

Sadly, our internet is having an outage so I’m doing this blip tethered to my phone. I hope it will be back tomorrow morning as I want to do a peloton ride before going to work.
