An ordinary life....

Fun in the sun…

When LeeAnne and I made arrangements for today we didn’t realise it was going to be so sunny and our plans took us inside.

Undeterred she arrived at 2.30pm and David dropped us at the Antiques and Art Centre at Abernyte.

We were originally just going for a nosey as we both love old stuff with some history to it, but LeeAnne actually had a mission! She wanted to buy an old school bell for her clients at Netherbyres (fabulous wedding venue) as they don’t have a “last orders at the bar” bell.

So we mooched around then LeeAnne found a fabulous old bell. Perfect. Errr at £125 perhaps not! Undeterred we carried on and after finding about five more bells that just weren’t quite right, she finally struck gold! An old school bell, the perfect size and the perfect noise level, and for the grand sum of £28! Sold to the lady with the giant grin on her face :-)))

I also didn’t leave empty handed. I bought some old fashioned silver plated soup spoons. Very plain design and the perfect depth for soup! I also spotted the most beautiful, tiny Victorian silver sugar spoon with a mother of pearl handle and had to have it. I love items like this. I hold them and wonder about where they came from and about all the hands that have touched them. What tea trays they might have graced and what conversations they’ve been party to…

After making our purchases we headed for the lovely cafe. Lattes and a cheese scone with butter and strawberry jam for LeeAnne (we lamented all those who don’t know the joy of the cheese and jam combo be it in a scone, a sandwich or a digestive biscuit :-) and a melting moment for me.

I was certainly melting when we left the place as it closed to meet David and head home Straight to the gin palace with some refreshments and nibbles for us. Thankfully no midges.

Sat out there till just before 8pm before hunger and cooling temperatures brought us inside for an Indian takeaway. Yum!!!

Afterwards David made himself scarce and LeeAnne and I sat in the garden room in awkward silence til 3.30am! Hahahahaha! Well the 3.30am part is true!

And poor LeeAnne had to put up with Lola demanding a love-in with her. She insisted on squeezing into the tiniest gap on the sofa beside LeeAnne, then trying to get on her knee. She finally settled for laying rammed up against her with poor LeeAnne having to tickle and rub her!

Alan was also happy to see LeeAnne as she brought him another naughty poster for his room! There’s no wall space left so she suggested it could go on the ceiling. Alan liked that idea very much! Thanks LeeAnne!!!

She also brought me a fab gift but not saying what at the moment as it will definitely be a blip!

Thanks for a fab day lovely and my
Most amazing gift! How do you find these perfect items?! :-))
