The Front Yard (Tuesday 12th July 2022)

When I was in C's garden last June I was taken by some red hot poker primulas (Primula Vialii) she had growing in a pot, and I subsequently bought some. They got off to a rocky start when two of the pots were knocked off the outside kitchen windowsill and smashed when I stupidly opened the window. They were repotted and all were moved to the safety of the glass-topped table under the cotinus - until a suddenly-panicked pigeon crashed into one and knocked it from the table, so that had to be repotted a second time, and all were then re-sited again onto a rubber-wheeled trolley in the Front Yard.

I hadn't expect any of them to flower until next year but one of them tentatively put up a flowering shoot last week. Its long stem unsurprisingly looped over during the hot spell we are currently having, but that exposed the undersides of the little flowers at the base of the poker flower - now just photographed for Tiny Tuesday, with thanks to osuzanna.

Jack White - Seven Nation Army (Glastonbury 2022) (recorded live, 26 June 2022, Glastonbury)
Today's Glastonbury's full set viewed on the iPlayer was that of Jack White, a "surprise" addition to Sunday's line-up, in which Jack White played songs from across his career to an enthusiastic crowd, culminating in Seven Nation Army.
