Sunday

We went over to the house this morning and pottered around, the real work will start tomorrow when we move in.  We've taken quite a few plants over so it's beginning to look lived in.  Before the weather settled into a heatwave we took a walk along the canal towpath to The Commandery, Worcester's Civil War museum and original Royalist headquarters, where they have a very nice garden cafe.  We had coffee and a lovely veggie chilli toastie each for lunch.

On the other side of the canal I saw these two swans on what appears to be a floating nest.  I don't think the female was brooding as I spotted them again later swimming up towards the canal basin.  Growing up the wall is wild buddleia, a suitable candidate for this week's Wildflower Week hosted by Miranda1008.

It was then back to Em's to try and keep as cool as possible.
