Thunderstruck

The local cinema in Kendal is quite small and not cheap. Consequently, when we are down in Chester, we try and see as many films as we can at the large multiplex during our time there. Air conditioned screens, large recliner seats, excellent sound and all for about half the price of our local cinema. Tickets are selected, paid for and stored through an app on the phone as well.
After the intensity of “Elvis” on Friday night, it was all a lot more light hearted last night when we saw the latest “Thor” movie. I seem to have missed one of these somewhere down the line, so it was quite helpful that the first few minutes of the film filled us in on the back story!
No deep storyline, stunning visual effects and plenty of humour meant it was all very mentally untaxing - quite a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours in fact. We were back in Kendal well before midnight and pleased to find it was a couple of degrees cooler than Chester had been.
I had a PT session this morning, which was somewhat warm, but I must confess to hiding inside for the afternoon, trying to avoid the sun. It’s not forecast to be too much hotter here over the next couple of days, so we’re hoping it won’t be too unbearable. Definitely glad we’re not still in Chester though, and even more glad we don’t live in London. Thankfully, we don’t have a lot in the diary for next week, so will be doing as little as possible over the next couple of days, whilst trying to stay as cool as possible.
