Adopting a nice line

Took S to North Shore Hospital this morning for an outpatient appointment. A much more productive and helpful experience than she had had a month or so back with a private specialist. Confirms my belief that the public sector health service in New Zealand is largely better than the private one. My experience in trying to match what I had done in public with what was practicable in private led to me retiring from that and returning to public service.

A mid-afternoon walk this afternoon, and I spent perhaps 10 minutes watching a Tui in a roadside tree, where it was finding some nectar in the flowers. Most of my other photos during those minutes were spoiled by the bird being obscured by the branches, twigs and leaves, or by its abrupt move to elsewhere in the tree.

Here, it seems to have aligned itself in keeping with the branches.

The extra shows a duck with its ducklings; tiny and very new. The duck was constantly calling, cajoling, controlling the brood. I crossed the road so as to not cause consternation
