The world champion of Catan

Thank you to everyone for their concern for Mr hazelh since his unexpected trip to hospital on Sunday night. This morning he attended his follow-up meeting with the consultant and it seems that there is nothing seriously wrong with him. However, they are going to fit him with a device to monitor his heart, just to be certain.

My day was one of barbecue prep, light gardening (still in the oppressive heat), and party hosting. Our guests this evening were Winsford (who blipped the barbecue chef), Jon, Katharine, Jack, Paddy, and Caitlin. After dinner, Jack and Mr hazelh headed indoors to play guitar. Meanwhile the rest of us remained at the table outside and embarked on a 6-person game of Catan. The game lasted for over two hours and ended in the dark (floodlit by iPhone) - and the inevitable (a win by Paddy, aka 'the world champion of Catan').

In my blip Paddy is trying to persuade Katharine and Jon that he really doesn't think that he has a chance of winning the game..

The last excitement of the day was to spot three frogs in our pond just before we all turned in for the night.

Exercise today: 10k+ steps (recorded on phone).
