Fruit, veg and bridges

We went out towards South Queensferry this morning to visit Craigie Farm, a massive operation with an absolutely huge number of polytunnels growing all sorts of fruit and veg, where people go to buy from the shop or to pick their own.

We bought a lot of produce and had a coffee in the café before moving on for a wander around the old harbour at South Queensferry, in the shadow of the three Forth bridges.

Unfortunately the place was absolutely mobbed, with cars parked a long distance up the road and everywhere packed with people. The last time I visited was in December, so I hadn't realised what a popular tourist spot it was!

So we decided to cross the Forth on the new bridge, the Queensferry Crossing, and spent a pleasant afternoon in North Queensferry which is much quieter since the new bridge was built. The rail bridge - my extra today - towers over the village and it's a lovely place to spend a few hours.
