Dried up loch

Walking around Airthrey loch  at Stirling University, I got a shock.

Most of the upper loch has dried up leaving swans, and ducks stranded with a choice of either a narrow band of water or the remaining surface covered in algae..

Normally in early evening the wildlife  is active on the loch. But not tonight. The birds sat still. Mute. as if aware of the impending disaster, or simply just to conserve energy.

All this is happening on our doorstep yet the two leading contenders to be our next Prime Minister have hardly mentioned climate change, concentrating instead on short-term issues that might give them votes.
I despair.
