Ruddy Darter

H and I walked on Kelling Heath this morning and ended up by the fishing pond at the holiday village, trying to photograph dragonflies and butterflies. I think this is a ruddy darter, there were a few much bigger ones that could have been Emperor dragonflies, but they were staying in the middle of the fairly big pond. We both expected temperatures of about 20C and had both worn walking trousers, but it was actually a humid 24C and we were both struggling by the end of the walk. This afternoon I watched one of the recent Bette Davies films I'd recorded and sat out at times reading my Billie Jean King autobiography.
