Making bean pizza

This was Frieda's last Tuesday with us for a few weeks, as she, Jack and Marianna leave on Thursday on holiday. First to Devon, where Marianna's brother Spryro and partner Mike live. Then to northern Brittany.  I feel some pangs of envy here, as these are two favourite places that I haven't visited since long before Covid. Time to make some plans, perhaps.

Meanwhile, Frieda had a relaxed day. To my surprise, the eco-friendly (non-plastic) version of Plasticene that I bought some time ago, as a stand-by for wet days, occupied her for much of the day. We had an extensive session of imaginary play, in which I produced long 'worms' or big flat pieces that she could then customise into whatever vegetable she fancied adding to the pizza she was preparing for various imaginary animal friends. She's clearly a fusion cook, as beans loomed large.  The eco-modelling stuff is a bit unforgiving; when cold, it's really hard for small hands to shape it. But with a bit of adult help, it soon softens up.
It was a lovely day.
