Wood Anemone.

Beneath the trees in the dark leaf mould of Killburn Wood there grows a lonely wood anemone; actually, there are lots of them, it's just that there's only one of them in this blip.

When I walk the dogs by myself, this is on my preferred route as there is so much to be photographed at different times of the year:
In a month's time there will be a vast carpet of bluebells,
In the autumn, the toadstools and
The rest of the time there are rotting fallen trees and the tiny burn "that ran red with blood" for three days after the Battle of Roslin seven hundred and ten years ago.
All of them can be very photogenic.
