Speckled Bush-Cricket

According to what I've read on the internet, these creatures have a brown stripe along their body which is more pronounced in the male of the species.  They are flightless and their antennae are twice the length of their body.
Apparently, the song of the male is produced by rubbing the right wing against a tooth-like projection on the left wing.  It is barely audible to human ears.  One of the plants they favour is birch.  Our opposite neighbour has a large silver birch tree which overhangs our garden, so I'm guessing that's where the female laid her eggs earlier in the year.
He's certainly rather well camouflaged against our coleus plant.
